Very nice! I go to school at the Art Institute, and this is how we were taught to paint in Photoshop. It's a great help! Many lives were saved once they learned to put the colors away until they got their values right.
Sometimes, you can duplicate your sketch layer and apply a Gaussian Blur to it for shading on your values layer. Duplicating and stacking multiplying value layers for extra impact can also be helpful.
Save multiple and separate versions as you go, so you can take a step back to an older version if something goes horribly wrong. Duplicate layers as often as needed and be free.
